Well-kept property in a quiet neighborhood 15-20 mins from Palm Springs. Great view of San Jacinto from the pool deck. The host, Eric, is friendly and great with communication. Highly recommend.

I loved everything about this stay at The Getaway. The apartment, the stunning views, the decor, the location, and the ease of booking all of it. Eric, our host, was more than welcoming and gave straightforward instructions for checking in. He was on site for our stay and it was lovely talking to him. The apartment was very clean with a comfy bed and lots of little design details. Good locale for Joshua Tree National Park. I would recommend this if you are staying in Desert Hot Springs.

We had such a wonderful stay at The Getaway in Desert Hot Springs! My husband, our two boys, and I were instantly charmed by the catchy 1950s–60s retro vibe of the rooms—so fun and thoughtfully designed. It really feels like a step back in time, in the best way possible. The area felt super safe, which made it easy to fully relax and enjoy. The pool was absolutely perfect for cooling off during the day, and our favorite part might have been soaking in the hot tub under the stars in the evening—it was peaceful and just what we needed. This was such a special family getaway, and we would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique, relaxing desert escape near Palm Springs!

I loved The Getaway; I enjoyed my time there...It was very peaceful & the apartment had everything I needed to make some excellent meals while on vacation...I love to cook, so this definitely made my lazy & introverted vacation even better lol. Eric was very friendly & whenever I had a question, he was very quick to respond...He seems like a good person. While I was at The Getaway, no one else was on the property for 4 days; As an introvert, this meant that I didn't have to worry about loud guests...I slept very soundly. I loved the collection of art books; Most people have bad taste (no offense), but these books were excellent. The only thing that I would recommend is a few acoustic panels because on the 5th day when other guests arrived, it was a little bit loud, but nowadays, they have panels that look like art, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to put a few up...maybe a black-out curtain in the bedroom...Other than that, I loved the place & would definitely consider staying again.

Everything we were looking for in our secluded and mesmerisingly beautiful desert escape! Perfect for those who seek a peaceful time to be at one with the desert- an unbeatable location right in between Palm Springs and Joshua Tree, yet Desert Hot Springs has a truly unique flavour of its own. The beautiful, mid-century style pool area was lovely and quiet and secluded (what more could you want!) we also loved the characterful collection of books in our apartment. We felt both completely transported and totally at home. Thoroughly recommend this for a desert getaway!

Super cute place! Our room was decorated in vintage style and it was fun browsing through the books and vintage items in all the rooms - including dishes! It was very quiet (we stayed 2 weeknights) and the neighbors were courteous. We hike and adventure all day long, so we appreciated the quiet. The small 5-plex building sits atop a small hill and our room (#4) had a bit of a view over Desert Hot Springs and the pool/hot tub. It's near the Mission Creek, Pioneertown and Whitewater Creek Preserve areas, which is why we chose this location. It was easy to shoot up to Hwy 62 to the preserves. All the usual amenities made The Getaway comfortable. It is a bit off the beaten path and not really within walking distance of a lot of restaurants and shops, which was fine for us.

The Getaway was the perfect retro escape during Desert X. The 60s-style rooms were full of charm, and the quiet setting made it easy to unwind after a full day of art. We loved relaxing by the pool and soaking in the hot tub under the desert sky. It felt like a peaceful throwback — stylish, unpretentious, and just right. Our pup was welcomed too, which made it even more special. We’ll definitely be back.

The Getaway is our favorite place to stay in the desert. The mid century modern vide is beautifully done both outside and in. The rooms are all very comfortable. Over the years we have tried them all. Often it is just my wife and I, but last year we took over most of rooms and the whole family celebrated Thanksgiving with my 96 year old mother who lives in Desert Hot Springs. The location is great and the views are breathtaking. Eric is a gracious, thoughtful and wonderful host.
